Dr. John Feenstra
presenting on 'Pulmonary Vascular Disease: A Field in Transformation'
Dr. John Feenstra is a Thoracic and Pulmonary Hypertension Physician with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary hypertension. He serves as Director of the Wesley Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, Director of Pulmonary Hypertension Research Queensland, and as the Lead Physician for Pulmonary Hypertension within the Queensland Lung Transplant Service at the Prince Charles Hospital.
Dr. Rebecca Watkinson
presenting on '2026 A Year in Review: Basic and Translational Science'
Dr Watkinson is an early-career postdoctoral researcher in the Foundations of Lung Disease team at The Kids Research Institute Australia, adjunct honorary research associate at the School of Allied Health, Curtin University, and the Centre for Child Health Research, University of Western Australia (UWA). Dr Watkinson is also an Imogen Miranda Suleski Fellow for neonatal research. After completing their PhD (2024) on differential airway epithelial responses to rhinovirus species in children with acute wheeze and asthma, contributing novel insights into mechanisms underpinning respiratory disease in early childhood; their current research investigates increased risk of severe viral infection, immune responses, and associated lung disease in children born preterm.
Dr. Allison Carroll
presenting on 'Paediatric Year in Review'
Dr. Allison Carroll is a Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Specialist at Perth Children’s Hospital with international training and experience. She completed subspecialty respiratory training at the University of Alberta, Canada, and obtained Australian specialist credentials through the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. Dr. Carroll has broad clinical experience across the spectrum of paediatric respiratory medicine, from asthma and chronic cough to lung transplantation. She currently enjoys practising across several community to tertiary settings.
Dr. Carroll recently completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on implementation and evaluation science. Her professional interests include medical education and health program evaluation.
Dr. Dylan Beinart
presenting on 'ATS/ERS updates - the latest biological targets in airways disease'
Dr Dylan Beinart is a WA trained respiratory physician with specialty expertise in severe asthma, upper airway pathologies and unexplained breathlessness. After completing his medical and specialist training in Perth, Dr Beinart completed a severe airways diseases fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital followed by a year long fellowship at the prestigious Royal Brompton Hospital in London, where he refined his skills in the evaluation and management of complex breathlessness and upper airway dysfunction.
